Pedro Maia

Pedro Maia is a doctoral student at the Energy Planning Program at COPPE/UFRJ. He holds a bachelor's degree in Chemical Engineering from EQ/UFRJ and a master's in Energy Planning from COPPE/UFRJ. His main research focus are carbon dioxide removal strategies, climate change mitigation and energy transition. His master's work was in direct air carbon capture and its utilization during short term possibly easing economic barriers for implementation. He also worked with direct methanol fuel cells for electric vehicles application during research at Cenergia/COPPE/UFRJ. He is a grant holder of the PRH-41/ANP/Finep - Program for Energy and Environmental Planning in Oil, Natural Gas and Biofuels
